A maioria foi desenhada por Adolphe Rouargue e gravada por Edouard Willmann. As gravuras de tipos de vendedores ambulantes são desenhadas por Gavarni e Eugéne Lami assina a gravura nº 3, Uma festa no Palácio da Câmara Municipal, e a nº 16 Revista militar no Campo de Marte.

Exemplar com leves desgastes na lombada e nos cantos das pastas, com ligeiras perdas de pele. Algumas das folhas apresentam pequenas manchas de foxing características da qualidade do papel, mas que não atingem as gravuras.

As gravuras, muito nítidas e impressas em folhas de cartolina com grandes margens, documentam diversos aspectos da cidade de Paris, começando por uma bela perspectiva de conjunto, vistas do Edíficio da Câmara Municipal, de uma festa na mesmo local, da Praça da Concórdia, da Praça do Carrocel, do Panteão, As Tulherias, O Arco do Triunfo, a Igreja de São Vicente de Paula, da Catedral de Notre-Dâme, do Palácio do Luxemburgo, Um salão da alta sociedade, o Palácio da Justiça e a Igreja próxima, um cortejo da Família Imperial, Palácio da Indústria, Uma revista militar no Campo de Marte, a Igreja de Santo Estevão do Monte, a Rua de Rivoli, a Praça de Vendoma; uma sequência de tipos de habitantes de Paris, tais como uma burguesa, um senhor, uma Dama da Alta Sociedade, uma vendedora de flores, um boémio, uma vendedora de vestidos, uma vendedora de Coco, uma vendedora de maçãs, uma vendedora de Halle.

As gravuras nº 30 até à nº 42 apresentam perspectivas das seguintes cidades francesas: Morlaix, Tours, Rouen, as Arenas de Nimes, Leão, Bordéus, Castelo d'Eu, Igreja de S. Pedro em Vannes, Igreja de São Tomás em Landerneau, Toulon, uma rua de Marselha, o porto de Marselha, Toulouse.

As duas últimas gravuras, nº 43 e 44, apresentam vistas de Ajácio, capital da Córsega, e de Alger, capital da colónia francesa da Algéria.

Adolphe Rouargue (Paris, 1810 - Paris, 1870) pintor, litógrafo e gravador. Aluno de David d’Angers e de Alexandre Colin. Colaborou desde 1831, nos salões artísticos. Em 1837 publicou um livro de gravuras sobre Veneza, colaborou na Illustration de 1843 a 1860, publicou descrição de viagens a Espanha, Itália, Suíça e obras com levantamento dos edifícios e conjuntos monumentais: La France Monumentale, La Loire Historique, Paris et ses Monuments e La France Ancienne et Moderne.

Edouard Willmann (Kalsruhe, 1820 - 1877) pintor, aguarelista, gravador e ilustrador. É o autor da gravação em metal de todas as gravuras desta obra.

Eugène Louis Lami (1800 - 1890) pintor, aguarelista, litógrafo, ilustrador e designer francês. Estudou na Escola de Belas Artes e iniciou a sua carreira no estúdio de Horácio Vernet. Especializou-se em retratos de figuras históricas, uniformes e temas militares, como cenas de batalhas.

Paul Gavarni (Paris, 1804 - 1866) é o pseudónimo de Sulpice Guillaume Chevalier, ilustrador francês. Foi um notável retratista de tipos sociais das várias classes da sociedade francesa. Os seus trabalhos foram, na sua maioria, publicados pela primeira vez na revista Le Charivari.

Copy with light signs of wear on the spine and corners of folders, with slight loss of leather. Some of the leaves show small foxing stains characteristic of the quality of the paper, but which do not affect the engravings.

Edouard Willmann (Kalsruhe, 1820 - 1877) painter, watercolourist, engraver and illustrator. He is the author of the metal engraving of all the etchings in this work.

Eugène Louis Lami (1800 - 1890) French painter, watercolourist, lithographer, illustrator and designer. He studied at the School of Fine Arts and began his career in the studio of Horace Vernet. He specialised in portraits of historical figures, uniforms and military subjects, such as battle scenes.
