Obra destaca um conjunto de 8 perfumes icônicos da Hermès, em frascos de 4ml que originalmente acompanhavam a obra e não estão presentes: Eau de Hermès, Caleche, Equipage, Amazone, Bel Ami, Rocabar, Hiris e Rouge Hermès. Homenagem aos perfumes que construíram a identidade olfactiva da Hermès ao longo de várias décadas. O autor transforma cada perfume numa pequena narrativa visual, recorrendo a desenhos, personagens, ambientes e associações evocativas.
Tem junto: Folheto com 5 folhas, oblongo de 13x18 cm, com a tradução da obra para o inglês, à direita a reprodução das páginas da obra a preto e branco e a esquerda a tradução para o inglês das respectivas páginas. Philippe Dumas (Cannes, 1940) foi um escritor, ilustrador, pintor e cenógrafo francês. Especializou-se em livros infantis. Estudou na École des Arts Décoratifs de Paris e desenvolveu uma carreira dedicada à ilustração, trabalhando para livros, imprensa e diversas instituições culturais. Com o escritor Boris Moissard, pseudônimo de Jean-Jacques Ably, reescreveu os contos de Grimm e Perrault nas coleções Contes à l'envers (1977) e Contes de la tête en plein ciel (1996). Ao longo de sua obra, Philippe Dumas é um moralista, seja nos assuntos sérios ou nas fábulas alegres. Além da sua aclamada carreira na literatura infantojuvenil e cenografia, é amplamente conhecido por ser membro da família Hermès, a emblemática dinastia de luxo francesa. Philippe Dumas é filho de Jacqueline Hermès (da quarta geração da família fundadora) e irmão de Jean-Louis Dumas, o icónico CEO que liderou a Hermès rumo ao topo do mercado global de luxo entre 1978 e 2006.

This work showcases a collection of eight iconic Hermès fragrances in 4ml bottles, that originally accompanied the artwork but are no longer present: Eau de Hermès, Caleche, Equipage, Amazone, Bel Ami, Rocabar, Hiris and Rouge Hermès. It pays tribute to the fragrances that have shaped Hermès’ olfactory identity over several decades. The author transforms each perfume into a short visual narrative, using drawings, characters, settings and evocative associations.
Included: A 5-page leaflet, oblong in shape, measuring 13 x 18 cm, containing the English translation of the work; on the right-hand side are black-and-white reproductions of the pages of the work, and on the left-hand side is the English translation of the corresponding pages. The front cover of the leaflet bears the following title: Nos Classiques: A Look at Hermès’ Perfumes.
Philippe Dumas (Cannes, 1940) was a French writer, illustrator, painter and set designer. He specialised in children’s books. He studied at the École des Arts Décoratifs in Paris and pursued a career in illustration, working on books, for the press and for various cultural institutions. Together with the writer Boris Moissard, the pseudonym of Jean-Jacques Ably, he rewrote the tales of Grimm and Perrault in the collections Contes à l’envers (1977) and Contes de la tête en plein ciel (1996). Throughout his work, Philippe Dumas is a moralist, whether dealing with serious subjects or cheerful fables. As well as his acclaimed career in children’s and young adult literature and set design, he is widely known as a member of the Hermès family, the iconic French luxury dynasty. Philippe Dumas is the son of Jacqueline Hermès (of the fourth generation of the founding family) and the brother of Jean-Louis Dumas, the iconic CEO who led Hermès to the top of the global luxury market between 1978 and 2006.
